August – New Netwalking Group in Essex

New Netwalking Group in Essex

This summer, we were thrilled to launch our new Netwalking Group at Hatfield Forest, which has brought us opportunities for both fresh air and strengthening connections, as well as meeting a few new faces.

Led by Vanessa Pedder, the initiative was designed to bring together professionals for an active lunchtime, meaningful conversations, and a break from the usual networking environment.

Building Momentum

Our first walks in July and August welcomed a mix of team members and local collaborators, including a lovely visit from Kevin Francis from The Little Wild Ones with his dog Finn (pictured). The sessions has been informal and fun – offering a space to share ideas, reflect on challenges, and explore new perspectives while walking through the forest’s tranquil paths.

Benefits for Attendees:

  • Improved focus and wellbeing: Many participants noted how the natural setting helped them reset mentally and return to work with renewed clarity.
  • Stronger connections: Walking side-by-side fostered more open conversations and deeper rapport than traditional meetings.
  • Creative breakthroughs: Several attendees reported unexpected insights and ideas sparked during the walks.

Benefits for Us:

  • A fresh way to engage with our team and community.
  • A platform to reinforce our values around wellbeing, collaboration, and innovation.
  • A chance to showcase Hatfield Forest as a unique local asset.

The last scheduled walk for the season is set for next Wednesday 17th September at 11:45 AM – with the walks then restarting next April. While this marks the end of our summer series, the success of these sessions has laid the groundwork for next year, which may well bring an extended season with Autumnal walks at another local venue.
